This first-year event is being planned as a small 100-person pilot, pending Town of Apex approval. The goal is to create a meaningful, well-run, and manageable community experience before growing in future years.

What Is the Along the Way Walk/Run?

This event is for people carrying hard things — grief, loss, diagnosis, stress, or invisible emotional weight.

Through walking, running, reflection, remembrance, and giving back, we hope to create a space where people can come together and feel less alone.

This is not a competitive race. It is a gentle community movement experience designed around empathy, presence, and support.

100-Person Pilot Finance Snapshot

Because this first year may be limited to approximately 100 participants, the financial goal is simple:

Cover responsible event costs.
Create a meaningful and well-run community experience.
Raise funds or gather donations to give back.
Build a model that can grow in future years.

Sample Conservative Revenue Plan

60 adult registrations at $25 = $1,500
25 child/student registrations at $10 = $250
1 Founding Movement Partner at $1,000 = $1,000
2 Reflection Station Sponsors at $500 = $1,000
4 Community Supporters at $250 = $1,000
Optional donations, raffle, or auction = $500 to $1,500

Estimated revenue range: $5,250 to $6,250

Sample Expense Planning Range

Town facility or shelter rental: $200 to $500
Insurance, if required or selected: $200 to $600
Signage and printing: $150 to $350
Water and simple snacks: $100 to $250
Art, reflection, and remembrance supplies: $150 to $400
Website, registration, and processing fees: $100 to $300
Miscellaneous cushion: $250 to $500

Estimated expense range: $1,150 to $2,900

Estimated amount available for giving back or future event carry-forward: approximately $2,350 to $5,100, depending on final sponsorships, registrations, donations, approvals, and actual costs.

This is a planning snapshot, not a final budget. Final numbers will be updated after Town approval, insurance quotes, registration setup, sponsor commitments, and event needs are confirmed.
